It’s In! Someday, Someday Maybe by Lauren Graham

Franny Banks is a struggling actress in New York City, with just six months left of the three year deadline she gave herself to succeed. But so far, all she has to show for her efforts is a single line in an ad for ugly Christmas sweaters and a degrading waitressing job. (Image and summary pulled from http://www.goodreads.com. I have a lot of books on my fall TBR list, but honestly the one I was most excited about is Someday, Someday Maybe by Lauren Graham. I know this might be silly, because it isn’t one of those big name novels you hear everybody raving about, and Lauren Graham is an actress, but I really wanted to read it. It finally came in last night, and I started reading it and couldn’t put it down. From the first page, it really did seem like I was reading something Lorelai Gilmore wrote, snarky thoughts and all. (I thought this was kind of funny, because I realize Lauren Graham is not the one who actually writes the snarky banter in Gilmore Girls.) So far, I would say I am impressed with her talents as an author. She is able to describe characters and situations and make them dimensional, without rambling, which can be really difficult to do. Hopefully, later this week, I will have a review up about how I feel about this book in its entirety.

  1. I like Lauren Graham, too. I’ll have to add this one to my TBR!

  2. I am listening to her reading on CD and it really does sound like Lorelai Gilmore, which is fine by me. Loving it!! I guess this is just how her mind works.
